    Jane Aikman profile

    Jane was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in July 2018 having previously held senior executive roles in both private and publicly listed technology and telecoms infrastructure companies. Immediately prior to joining Arqiva Jane was CFO of KCOM Group plc, a listed communications services and IT solutions provider.  Prior to KCOM, Jane was CFO and Chief Operating Officer of Phoenix IT Group plc until its acquisition by Daisy Group in 2015. She has also held CFO positions at Infinis plc, Wilson Bowden plc and Pressac plc.  She holds a civil engineering degree and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

    Jane’s experience is instrumental in ensuring that we maintain our strong financial performance, where efficiency gains and revenue growth continue to underpin our strong market position and leading product offerings.

    Jane is married and has one son and three step sons.  She is a keen sportswoman and counts marathon running, cycling, scuba diving and skiing in her many hobbies.

  • Simon Beresford-Wylie

    Simon brings a wealth of experience gained from over 30 years in the information technology, broadcast and telecoms sector. 

    He previously helped guide the strategy and operations of Samsung Electronics’ network business in Seoul, Korea. Prior to this he was CEO of UK-based Digital Mobile Spectrum Limited (DMSL) – also known as At800 – which was established as a 4G licence condition by Ofcom and is responsible for mitigating interference issues that arise as a consequence of the co-existence of DTT television and 4G mobile in the 800MHz band. 

    Between 2009 and 2012, Simon was CEO of Elster Group (SE), a German-based supplier of metering and gas infrastructure solutions. He led the company through a period of growth and also a successful listing on the New York Stock Exchange. 

    11 years with the Nokia Corporation saw him latterly serving on the Group Executive Board responsible for the Group’s Network Business. He was also the founding CEO of Nokia Siemens Networks which today accounts for around 90% of Nokia’s global revenues and profits. 

    Simon is a dual UK-Australian national. He was born and spent his early childhood in the UK before his family emigrated to Australia in 1970. He is married to Margaret and has two grown-up children, both of whom now live in Sydney. He has a wide variety of interests including travel and staying fit.

    David is Managing Director of Telecoms & M2M.

    Appointed to his current role in April 2018, David was previously Managing Director of our Satellite & Media business. He brings significant telecoms and business process outsourcing experience having held a number of service and commercial leadership roles at Cable & Wireless (C&W) and, most recently, Capita. David also brings extensive international experience having worked in Asia for Jardine Matheson and in the Caribbean for C&W. David also spent a number of years in strategy consultancy with Bain & Company.

    David is a graduate of Cambridge University and has an MBA from IMD.

    He is a keen sportsman and is married with three children.

  • Steve Holebrook

    Managing Director Terrestrial Broadcast

    Steve is Managing Director of our Terrestrial Broadcast business unit, which provides end to end transmission services to the UK's terrestrial TV and radio broadcasters, including customers such as the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Global Radio and Bauer. The Terrestrial Broadcast business unit includes the commercial, product, engineering and operational teams required to provide the national services on a 24x7 basis throughout the United Kingdom. The services provided to customers include the transmission of the UK’s DTT multiplexes, and the new Local TV services; local and national analogue radio; local and national DAB services. We are also the license holder for four national commercial UK DTT multiplexes, as well as providing multiplexing services on behalf of other operators that make up the UK’s national DTT platform, Freeview.

    Steve joined Arqiva (NTL as then known) in 1995 and has held a variety of roles in the company including running the standalone Satellite and Terrestrial business units and the combined Broadcast and Media division.

    Steve has previously worked for Mercury Communications, Kingston Satellite Services, British Aerospace and British Telecom International.

    Steve graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering in 1987 and gained a Master of Science postgraduate degree at Surrey University in 1989.

    Jeremy was appointed to the Management Board in January 2018 with responsibility for all legal and regulatory affairs.

    Jeremy joined Arqiva in 2013 having spent 10 years at top global law firm Allen & Overy. Jeremy worked in their London and Paris offices on a broad range of cross border corporate finance and M&A matters. A fluent French speaker, Jeremy also spent time at Natixis and BNP Paribas when he was based in France.

    Jeremy graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA in History and Politics and is a qualified solicitor. He obtained his post-graduate diplomas in law from College of Law, Guildford, and BPP Law School in London.

    He is an avid sportsman and is married with four children.

    Alex Pannell

    Alex is Managing Director of Satellite & Media.

    Alex joined as a Director in 2012 and has over 15 years’ experience in leadership roles, working with managed ICT & media services both in the UK and International markets. During his time with Arqiva he has led the Product & Technology unit, Media Services unit, and most recently the global commercial teams within Satellite & Media

    Prior to this he spent seven years at BT, joining as a Manager within IP Services before moving on to become a Director in BT Wholesale where he ran their broadband, voice portfolio teams and led two enterprise business units – BT Directory & Operator Services and BT Agile Media. Before this, Alex spent four years at Concert Communications as the Head of Global IP Services taking to market a range of new global IP services including the world’s first international IP VPN MPLS service.

    Alex is married and lives in London with their two sons.

    Director of People & Organisation

    Neil Taplin

    Neil joined us in 2015 as Director of Operations in the Terrestrial Broadcast business unit and was appointed to the role of Director of People & Organisation in October 2018. While in Terrestrial Broadcast, his team achieved exceptional improvements in customer satisfaction, employee engagement and operational efficiency.

    Prior to joining Arqiva, he spent 12 years in a number of senior operations roles at Virgin Media, leading large and geographically disperse teams. His passion for operational leadership, customer service and people engagement has seen him lead teams through M&A processes, rebranding and culture change activities. Before this he led the service organisation for a global white goods brand.

    Neil graduated with a Degree in Economics and gained a PDBA from Newcastle University. He is married to Nicola and they have two children. He enjoys skiing, cycling and taking his 1978 air-cooled VW campervan for family weekends away.

    Clive White

    Appointed in April 2018, Clive is responsible for delivering Arqiva’s FutureFit transformation, IT and networks and cyber security.

    He brings a wealth of business transformation and change management knowledge to the role, with experience in the banking, insurance, pensions and investments, telecoms, media and technology sectors.

    Clive joined from the international insurer RSA, where he led the design and implementation of their UK transformation journey and the first three years of their programme to implement not only substantial efficiency savings, but also build and develop new organisational capabilities. Prior to this he held several transformation related roles at Lloyds Banking Group, Accenture, AT&T Global Network Services and BSkyB where he was accountable for the implementation of IT and operational capability as they developed their integrated platforms for real-time and live-to-air services.

    Clive holds a BSc in integrated computer science and an MBA (Exec) from the University of Bath. He has an interest in human performance (Neuro-linguistic Programming and Emotional Intelligence), and is an active fan of Formula One, tennis and volleyball.

    Clive is married and lives in the Cotswolds with his wife, Lisa. He has two step-children.
