08 September 2026, Winchester, UK – As beIN SPORTS, the leading sports broadcaster, reported a cumulative audience of 6.2 billion viewers for its FIFA World Cup 2026TM coverage, Arqiva has highlighted the role its satellite and fibre infrastructure played in supporting the delivery of the tournament to audiences across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Working with beIN SPORTS, Arqiva provided the critical satellite uplink services used to distribute coverage across the region via Es'hailSat-1. The company also delivered the fibre connectivity and satellite uplink infrastructure supporting the broadcaster's extensive tournament coverage, helping ensure reliable delivery throughout the competition.

The FIFA World CupTM is one of the world's most technically demanding live broadcasting events, requiring robust and resilient infrastructure capable of supporting continuous, high-quality coverage for millions of viewers. Arqiva's infrastructure was operated to a 99.999% availability target, helping beIN SPORTS deliver comprehensive coverage throughout the tournament.

Gaurav Jandwani, Executive Director, Media & Broadcast at Arqiva, said:

"The FIFA World CupTM is one of the most watched sporting events in the world, bringing together billions of viewers and creating huge expectations for broadcasters. We're proud to have supported beIN SPORTS with the connectivity and distribution infrastructure needed to deliver coverage across the MENA region.
