Free connectivity set to improve the passenger experience at Exeter airport

We've partnered with Exeter Airport to deliver free WiFi connectivity, to passengers travelling throughout the terminal building.

Previously, free WiFi had only been available for 30 minutes in centralised departure lounge areas. However, following an upgrade delivered by Arqiva, any passenger can now access up to 60 minutes of free WiFi connectivity daily, with coverage provided across all areas of the terminal building*. After one hour, access to the internet is chargeable at £3 an hour or £5 for three hours.

Services in and out of Exeter Airport have been increasing in recent years; with the introduction of flights to London City Airport, passenger numbers exceeded 700,000 in 2014. Most recently, in August 2015, the airport announced the return of direct flights to and from Glasgow, and the extension of its summer season into October for flights to Alicante, Malaga and Palma Mallorca.

“As connectivity becomes increasingly important to our daily lives, today’s travellers expect to be able to get online at every stage in their journey. At Exeter Airport we are committed to providing the best possible visitor experience and a fast and reliable public WiFi connection is a crucial part of that.”

“With annual passenger numbers rising to pre-recession levels we anticipate that enhancing passenger satisfaction through this upgrade will further support the airport’s future growth.”

“Arqiva has a proven track record when it comes to airport connectivity, providing passenger WiFi services to 21 of the top 25 UK airports, including at Heathrow, Manchester, and Stansted. We look forward to helping Exeter Airport spread its wings even further.”

We have successfully delivered WiFi solutions to 21 of the largest 25 airports in the UK (including passenger and airline lounge WiFi services and connectivity to on-airport business partners). we are also helping to facilitate free WiFi for residents and visitors in local boroughs; most notably, London Borough of Richmond Council has been able to provide free WiFi to people in its borough in time for the Rugby World Cup.
