    Paul is an international businessman and philanthropist, with over 20 years’ experience in senior executive roles across the technology, media and telecommunications sectors. He was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer in April 2020. Prior to this he acted as a non-executive director on the Arqiva Board.

    He is accountable for the day to day running of our business and providing the effective leadership to ensure we are following the strategy agreed with the Board. This includes having mutually productive relationships with our customers, having the right culture and meeting financial targets.

    Between 2014 and 2016 Paul led the transformation of Europe’s leading cinema operator, Odeon and UCI Cinemas Group, ahead of its successful sale to AMC Theatres. Paul’s leadership led to innovations in pricing, digital marketing and guest experience which laid the foundations for improvements in business performance and public perception.

    Prior to Odeon, Paul was CEO of Irish Telecoms Group eir, again leading a comprehensive process of business transformation. The transformation programme was all encompassing and included the introduction of a new mobile brand, the integration of mobile and fixed networks and IT, the creation of a mobile network sharing joint venture with Telefonica, a £90m investment in fibre based internet services, the launch of a range of new wholesale products and a restructuring of €4bn of corporate debt.

    Paul’s background has included senior executive appointments with a number of significant global organisations. He spent nine years at Vodafone including five years as a member of the Group Executive where he notably led the company’s emerging markets business. He worked at Cable and Wireless in both the UK at One2One and in Australia at Optus. His early career included senior commercial roles at BT, Apple Computers, Coca-Cola and Schweppes Beverages and Mars Inc.

    Philanthropy is fundamental to Paul’s philosophy. He served as senior philanthropy advisor to Sir Christopher Hohn from 2017-18, and was CEO of the CH Foundation and interim CEO of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. In 2018 he became a trustee of the Oxfordshire Community Foundation and is a founder of two private charitable funds; Our Common Good UK, a social impact accelerator, and the Daymark Fund, an educational charity focussed on the developing world.

    Paul is a keen Arsenal fan. He lives in Oxfordshire with his wife, they have two children.

    Shuja joined Arqiva in January 2020. As Chief Commercial Officer Shuja is responsible for our revenue-generating activities, as well as strategy and product development and our regulatory relationships.

    Shuja has more than 20 experience in leadership roles within the telecoms, media and broadcasting sector. Prior to joining Arqiva Shuja was Chief Commercial Officer for Cable & Wireless based in the USA where he covered multiple territories across the Caribbean and South America. He has also held senior positions at Liberty Global where he generated significant revenue growth opportunities and increased operational performance. During his time at Liberty Global he was Director of Operations for Virgin Media UK and, prior to this, Commercial Director for TV where he oversaw the first cable TV integration of Netflix globally in 2012 as well as leading the move into premium sports content.

    A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Shuja has a degree in economics.  On graduation he spent a decade at Deloitte where he advised clients including the BBC on strategy and operational transformation.

    Shuja spent his childhood in a multi-cultural environment in the Middle East, fuelling a passion for travel and food. He is married and has two children.

  • Vivian Leinster

    Vivian joined Arqiva in June 2020, and as Chief People Officer provides leadership and expertise in shaping our organisational culture and developing HR strategy to ensure that our colleagues are motivated, engaged, supported and empowered to deliver their full potential. 

    Vivian has significant experience in HR, cultural change and people management. Prior to joining Arqiva she was Chief People Officer at MS Amlin a specialist commercial insurance provider. Previously she spent four years as the People Director at Bupa UK, and 10 years in a variety of senior generalist and specialist HR roles at BT. Vivian has extensive experience in people, organisation and cultural change to drive high performance and has led programmes to modernise working practices, drive engagement and create diverse and inclusive environments. She is also a strong, hands on HR practitioner with experience in talent and leadership, training and development, benefits and compensation as well as acquisitions and divestments.  

    Vivian holds a Global Executive Masters in HR Leadership from the Rutgers University in New Jersey and is currently studying towards an ILM level 7 coaching qualification. 

    With dual nationality, Vivian grew up in Sydney but has been in the UK for over 25 years.  She has a university age son and has a passion for food and travel.

  • Jeremy Mavor

    Jeremy joined Arqiva in 2013. As Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Jeremy is responsible for legal affairs, our reputation, operational resilience including health and safety, compliance and our approach to risk. Corporate Affairs is also responsible for managing our portfolio of estates. Jeremy was previously responsible for all legal affairs as General Counsel and Company Secretary.

    Prior to joining Arqiva, Jeremy spent 10 years at top global law firm Allen & Overy working in their London and Paris offices on a broad range of cross border corporate finance and M&A matters. A fluent French speaker, Jeremy also spent time at Natixis and BNP Paribas when he was based in France.

    Jeremy graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA in History and Politics and is a qualified solicitor. He obtained his post-graduate diplomas in law from College of Law, Guildford, and BPP Law School in London. He is an avid sportsman and is married with four children.

  • Alex Pannell

    Alex joined Arqiva in 2012. As Executive Director, Commercial Broadcast and Utilities, Alex is responsible for the revenue and profit performance in those markets. Prior to this he was Commercial Director for Video and Data.

    Alex has over 20 years' experience in the telecoms, media and technology industry, leading portfolio management and holding wider general management roles across the business and consumer markets in the UK and Internationally. During his time with Arqiva he has led the Product and Technology unit, Media Services unit as well as our global commercial teams within Satellite & Media.

    Prior to joining Arqiva he spent 15 years at BT in various commercial, product management / development, business transformation and business development roles across UK and International markets.  Prior to leaving BT he was a Director in BT Wholesale where he ran their broadband and voice portfolio and led two enterprise business units. During his time in BT Alex spent four years at BT’s Global joint venture with AT&T where he led a global portfolio management for global IP & Data services.

    Alex graduated with a degree in Business and Economics from Leicester University. He is married with two children and is a keen sportsman, in particular water sports and skiing.

  • Neil Taplin

    Neil joined in 2015. As Executive Director, Operations, Neil is responsible for the operations maintenance and 24/7 delivery of our in-life core platforms and services. This includes the leadership of our field service, service management, monitoring centres, logistics, sites and structures teams. He was previously Director of Operations and Director for People and Organisation.

    Prior to joining Arqiva, Neil spent 12 years in a number of senior operations roles at Virgin Media, leading large and geographically disperse teams. His passion for operational leadership and customer service has seen him lead teams through large scale operational service and performance transformation.

    Neil graduated with a Degree in Economics and gained a PDBA from Newcastle University.  He is married with two children. He enjoys skiing, cycling and taking his 1978 air-cooled VW campervan for family weekends away.

  • Sean West

    Chief Financial Officer

    Sean joined Arqiva in 2015 as Director of Treasury and Corporate Finance and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in September 2019, after holding the position on an interim basis for six months.

    Sean has a background in all areas of corporate finance and financing, and as Director of Treasury and Corporate Finance, Sean was responsible for all aspects of the Group's capital structure.

    Prior to Arqiva, Sean held senior corporate finance and treasury positions at the Immediate Capital Group (ICG) and LandSec and brings a wealth of experience across a range of industries and financial markets.

    He is a dual UK and Australian national and holds a degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance, from the University of New South Wales and is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.  Sean is married with two children.

  • Clive White

    Chief Technology and Transformation Officer

    Clive joined Arqiva in 2018. As Chief Technology and Transformation Officer Clive is responsible for our technology platforms, security systems, networks and data, as well as delivering major enterprise programmes including transformation.

    Clive brings a wealth of scale operational experience, business transformation and change management knowledge to the role, with experience in the banking, insurance, pensions and investments, telecoms, media and technology sectors.

    Prior to Arqiva, Clive led the design and implementation of the UK division of RSA’s transformation journey and during the first three years of their programme implemented not only substantial efficiency savings, but also built and developed new organisational capabilities. Prior to this he held several transformation related roles at Lloyds Banking Group, Accenture, AT&T Global Network Services and BSkyB where he was accountable for the implementation of IT and operational capability as they developed their integrated platforms for real-time and live-to-air services.

    Clive holds a BSc in integrated computer science and an MBA (Exec) from the University of Bath.

    He has an interest in human performance (Neuro-linguistic Programming and Emotional Intelligence). He is an active fan of Formula One, tennis and volleyball. Clive is married and has two step-children.
