About us

Arqiva is Ireland's leading independent provider of radio communications services. Customers include the Garda, all of the ambulance services and the majority of fire brigades, as well as the RNLI, the Irish Coastguard, the Maritime Coastguard Agency and other organisations whose core business relies on exacting levels of performance, resilience and availability from their communications systems.
Arqiva occupies the same position in the UK where the 'blue light' and other emergency services have a long association with the company. Arqiva's Public Safety group provides a full range of support services to police, fire, ambulance and other emergency services including design and installation of integrated telecommunications systems, radio system maintenance and fully managed services. The group has a longstanding relationship with the Public Safety community spanning several decades and is closely involved in the migration of its radio communications systems to digital technology. As part of an expansion of these activities, Arqiva acquired the Irish sales and service business of Simoco in 1999. Since then it has had a major presence in Ireland.
Arqiva is also the leading provider of managed transmission services for broadcasters, meeting the needs of the entire networks for ITV, Channel 4 and Five, together with most independent radio stations. With a heritage dating back over 50 years, the company has a proven track record as a network builder not only for broadcasting but also in support of the mobile communications and public safety sectors.
With a portfolio of over 2000 radio towers, Arqiva's Wireless division specialises in end-to-end mobile and cellular network infrastructure, from site sharing to access circuits, installation services and managed network provision.
Prior to June 2005, Arqiva was known as NTL Broadcast. In January 2005 National Transcommunications Ltd (NTL Broadcast) was acquired from NTL Group for £1.27 billion by a consortium of investors led by Macquarie Communications Infrastructure Group (MCG), an Australian Stock Exchange listed investment fund. MCG is a committed long-term investor in Arqiva, and the company is considered fundamental to MCG's future growth.
