Arqiva announced today that it has successfully facilitated the launch of Performance MainStreet, the second channel from established broadcaster, Eicom plc.  Performance MainStreet, which is available on Sky channel 271, is dedicated to showing the best of Rock, Jazz, Easy Listening, Documentary and Performer Profiles.

The three-year contract was signed on 24 August 2007, and Arqiva's experience and expertise at launching channels onto the Sky platform enabled the channel to launch on 17 September 2007. Arqiva is providing co-location space at its Chalfont teleport which will enable Performance MainStreet to play out the channel themselves.  The company is also providing uplink and 3.1 Mb/s space on Eurobird. Arqiva has provided the same services for the Performance Channel since 2004.

Matthew Clements, head of content for Eicom plc, said: "Arqiva has always delivered a first rate and very flexible service. We were therefore very happy to extend our relationship with them for the launch of our second channel."

John Bozza, director of sales at Arqiva's Satellite Media Solutions division, added: "Arqiva has the ability to provide the Performance Channel with a full spread of broadcast services and this has enabled us to quickly and easily extend our service offering to launch their second channel. We wish MainStreet every success and look forward to assisting The Performance Channel with its plans for future growth."
