- NTL's Public Safety group secures exclusive three-year contract to supply analogue radio systems to HM Prison Service
- Managed service to include installation and maintenance
NTL Broadcast's Public Safety group has announced that it has won an exclusive three-year framework contract for the supply and replacement of analogue radio systems and handportables to HM prisons. The agreement applies to all of England's 128 public prison facilities, and will be worth around £2 million over three years, with an option to extend for two years.
It is expected that initial work will begin with the replacement of systems in around 40 of the prisons, followed by the agreement of new maintenance contracts for over 80 sites during the three-year tenure. Included in the managed service contract are installations, support, maintenance and software upgrades, all with a single point of supply.
Steve Worthington, director of NTL's Public Safety group, commented: "This was a highly competitive tender. Since we have worked with the Prison Service for a number of years this exclusive deal represents a clear endorsement of our high levels of service and support so far. We are very pleased to have won this contract and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship."
