Arqiva's Public Safety group is a leading provider of frontline communications services, support and solutions for public and private sector organisations in the UK and Ireland. We specialise in the design and installation, system maintenance and provision of fully managed services for telecommunications, private mobile radio and mobile data solutions.
Customers include the ‘blue light' emergency services as well as government agencies and commercial organisations that rely on mission critical communications and demand exacting levels of performance, resilience and availability from their communications systems.
The Public Safety group owns and operates communication networks throughout the UK. These fixed-line and mobile communication networks are supported by a National Customer Service Centre (NCSC) and maintained by national field operations involving nearly 300 engineers based at over 30 sites across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Together they provide Arqiva's customers with seamless communications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and for 52 weeks of the year.
Arqiva also provides design and installation services for frontline communication networks as well as independent systems integration services for Private Mobile Radio (PMR) and fixed-line communications. As Arqiva is not tied to any manufacturer it keeps and independent eye on the latest technology, utilising the best available solution for the demanding environment.
By bringing together its experience in communications systems support with an independent approach to the design and integration of the latest technologies Arqiva has developed a range of managed services for PMR and frontline communications. As a result the Public Safety group is the largest independent provider of PMR managed services in the UK.
The group is the largest third party maintainer of Public Safety radio in the UK, providing radio communications support services for the majority of the UK's Police, Fire and Ambulance services, as well as managing the Metropolitan Police Service's voice and data radio communications and providing services to both the RNLI and the MCA.
Arqiva has also combined its knowledge and experience of frontline communications and mobile networks with its independent approach to technology to provide mobile data solutions for the Public Safety market. This approach has made Arqiva the leading supplier of Electronic Patient Report Form (EPRF) application software and systems to the Ambulance Trusts in both the UK and Ireland.
The Public Safety group also manages a technical assessment facility on behalf of the Home Office, testing EMC compliance between vehicle equipment and radios to ensure the effective performance of both legacy and TETRA radios for the UK's police forces.
