Arqiva invites proposals for a new national digital terrestrial television channel

Arqiva has today announced that it is inviting proposals for an additional digital terrestrial television channel to launch on one of its DTT multiplexes.  The new channel is to be made available from January 2009 and all interested parties are being invited to submit proposals by 22 October 2008.

Arqiva expects to award the new channel before the end of the year.

Arqiva is licence holder for multiplexes C and D, two of the six multiplexes which make up the UK's digital terrestrial television platform principally used by Freeview.

Freeview is the largest digital television platform in the UK with over 16.7 million homes equipped to receive up to 48 TV and 24 radio channels through a conventional aerial.
