• Three-year uplinking contract
• Eurobird satellite for Sky digital platform

Arqiva announced today a three-year contract with Gala Limited to provide uplinking services for live interactive bingo channel, Gala TV.  Available on the Sky digital platform, channel 841, Gala TV is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  When it launched in 2006 the interactive and video channel, fronted by bingo callers from its UK clubs network alongside TV personalities, was a first for the industry.

Anna Conley, Gala TV manager, said: "When the contract with our previous supplier came up for renewal, we felt the time was right to put it out to tender. Arqiva has indirectly provided services for us over recent years and we selected the company for this direct contract due to the nature of the service package it was able to offer - the team is giving us experience, reliability and efficiency, tied up in a cost-effective offering."

John Bozza, director of broadcast sales at Arqiva's Satellite Media Solutions division, said: "We've been working on this type of contract with other channels in the industry for a number of years now and are becoming well known for the quality of service we offer. Working with Gala Limited indirectly over the years put us in a good position to know what they were looking for and we were able to provide a well thought out proposal, encompassing all their requirements. We invest heavily in our facilities to ensure that we are able to meet the needs of our customers and, as a result, won a variety of new contracts throughout 2007."
