  • New contracts support Canadian Natural's operations in Africa

Arqiva's Satellite Media Solutions division announced today that it has further extended its relationship with Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNR), a senior leading independent oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company. Arqiva, a leading supplier of global communications, already provides CNR with satellite-based international connectivity, IPLC (International Private Leased Circuit) and turnkey communication solutions in Africa. A contract signed at Offshore Europe 2007 has seen Arqiva integrate CNR's two new offices and operations in Gabon, West Africa into its existing wide area network. The latest contract, signed in January 2008, will see Arqiva provide CNR with satellite connectivity to an offshore well-head platform, Ivory Coast.

Mike Dingley, Manager Information Systems for CNR International (UK) Limited, said: "We have been working with Arqiva for a number of years and have been pleased with the reliability of service they have provided. The scale and integrity of their global infrastructure makes Arqiva the natural choice to deliver communications to our new locations and to support our growing business in Africa."

James Trevelyan, Head of Enterprise Sales at Arqiva's Satellite Media Solutions division, said: "Arqiva is delighted to be supporting the expansion of Canadian Natural Resources into new markets. As a leading independent oil and natural gas company involved in exploration, development and production, Canadian Natural has communication requirements that go far beyond standard fibre connectivity. We look forward to growing our relationship with Canadian Natural further in the future."
