National Grid Wireless confirms it has been working with an experienced team of external advisors for a number of months. The team brings significant complementary industry expertise to National Grid's extensive design, build and maintenance experience in the management of national analogue and digital radio networks. These advisers include:

  • David Mansfield; former Managing Director of Capital Radio and Chief Executive of GCap
  • Jason Bryant; Chief Executive of Town & Country Broadcasting and former Development Director at Virgin Radio
  • Mike Franklin; former Managing Director of talkSPORT

David, Jason & Mike - and others - are supporting Tony Moretta, General Manager Broadcast, in developing an exciting proposal for the new national DAB licence, applications for which are due to be submitted to Ofcom by 28 March.

Steven Marshall, CEO National Grid Wireless, said "I am delighted that we have been able to assemble such an experienced team to support our bid. Their in-depth industry knowledge, combined with our own skills and experience, will enable us to offer Ofcom and the commercial radio industry a range of services which will ensure a great future for digital radio in the UK."
