Crown Castle to provide broadcast services for Kerrang! FM in the West Midlands

9th Mar 2004

WARWICK - March 09, 2004 - Crown Castle International, one of the UK's leading network infrastructure management companies, has announced that it has signed an agreement to broadcast Emap's new Kerrang! FM radio service in the West Midlands.

This is the first analogue radio agreement between Crown Castle and Emap and builds on the relationship the two organisations already have for TV and radio services on Freeview.

This latest radio service from Emap is expected to launch in May this year and will be based on Kerrang! magazine's heavy rock format. At launch Kerrang! will be available to approximately 3.5 million potential listeners.

Tim Cockram, Emap's broadcast systems manager, said: "We knew we were working to tight timescales and we wanted a partner we could rely on. Crown Castle's consistent ability to deliver and their technical assistance with our original licence bid were important factors in our final decision."

Peter Abery, president and managing director at Crown Castle UK, commenting on the agreement said: "We are pleased to further the excellent relationship we enjoy with Emap and once again demonstrate our ability to deliver projects of this type on time and to budget."
