The Irish Government has come to tender for a nationwide Managed Digital Radio Service for Voice & Data Services for all Public Security and Emergency services and non-commercial Public Bodies in Irish Public Services.

The project includes supplying national coverage and specific in-building coverage, as well as specialist areas in tunnels, ground-to-air and up to 12km off shore.

Both voice and data services will be supplied under the contract, which carries a term of 8 +2 years

The system will provide:

• 99.98% availability
• nationwide roaming
• closed User Group
• inter-agency
• hi-quality PTT
• full duplex of inter-operability with GSM & PSTN networks
• Authentication Encryptions systems
• Inter-operability with Public Bodies in ROI & NI
