Peter has spent the whole of his career, now over 42 years, in the broadcast transmission and telecommunications business sectors.
His first position was in the Broadcast Division of Marconi, working on the development, installation and commissioning of transmission plant, both in the UK and overseas.
After spending a period in the BBC as a project manager in their Transmitter Planning and Installation Department, he moved to the Independent Broadcasting Authority and later assumed responsibility for the design, development and implementation of all the Authority’s transmission networks.
In 1990 the Engineering Division of the IBA was privatised with an enterprise value of £70m and Peter took a leading role in the commercialisation and growth of the company. In 1996 he became Managing Director until the business was sold to a consortium led by Macquarie in 2004 for over £1.2bn
Peter has served on a number of Boards including NTL, Channel 5 Engineering Services, SDN, Broadcast Australia and Global Radio.
He holds a BSc degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
