Purpose:

Support of BFBS broadcasting contract through operation of digital transmission facilities.

Key Objectives:

• Ingesting programme material from tape
• Checking that material for daily transmission schedules is complete and in correct state for transmission
• Non linear/linear editing of programme material
• Working with tape management and scheduling systems
• Exportation of daily transmission schedule
• Ability to prioritise own workload
• Direct one-on-one liaison with customers
• Monitoring and adherence to broadcast standards
• Provide first-line fault correction with regard to programme media
• Monitoring of channel outputs for quality and continuity of service
• Direct Liaison with MCR and control rooms to ensure occasional feeds are available
• Managing automated ingest of programme material
• Responsible for the deployment of redundant systems under failure conditions

Skills/Competencies

• Able to demonstrate knowledge of the end-to-end process of channel playout
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
• Desire to expand technical knowledge within IT and broadcast systems

Technical knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

• Good level of education in relevant discipline (HND or Degree preferred)
• Experience and operation of broadcast and IT equipment

Personal Qualities:

• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Very organised and accurate with attention to detail
