Purpose:
- To be responsible for providing engineering support for Arqiva's Incident & Problem Management services
- Provide radio system engineering support that enhances the service delivery to customer and the Business Unit
- To support the business unit technically and assist with the interpretation of customer requirements in order to produce technically sound solutions with minimal risk
Key Objectives:
- Provide technical support and support Operations in problem and incident resolution
- Analyse incident data, identifying trends and pursuing a satisfactory conclusion to identified problems
- To co-ordinate a team of engineers providing technical support to both the Metropolitan Police Service and Regional Business Management Team within Arqiva
- Project management of specialised local projects to support incident and problem resolution
- Liaise with business development managers on a regular basis in order to understand the strategy and likely requirements of potential bids
- Work as part of the bid team providing costing and technical input into Arqiva tender responses
- Analysis of various data sets to provide customer reports on system performance
- Ability to support system performance optimisation within the boundaries of the contract and identify new opportunities to enhance services offered to the customer
- Liaise with key suppliers in order to manage and resolve engineering and maintenance issues
- Develop and manage relationships with relevant internal and external suppliers within Arqiva
- Develop technical knowledge in line with the changing business requirements
- Promote an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within area of operation
- Maintain a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the Arqiva Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and Arqiva assets
Skills/Competencies
Technical knowledge and experience of private mobile radio, ideally with an in depth understanding of trunk radio and Tetra networks and other technologies in line with those relevant to assigned products would be highly beneficial
Technical knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:
- Appropriate technical qualification - Degree or equivalent
- PC literate (Microsoft Office Suite inc. Excel)
- Excellent numerical skills
- Knowledge of PMR or Tetra networks and overall strong technical aptitude
- RF System Design/Engineering - I&C - Planning - Optimisation
- Experience of ITIL and/or Knowledge Management
Personal Qualities:
- Willing to take ownership and follow through on own initiative
