Management Profile: Steve Holebrook

Managing Director, Terrestrial Media Solutions

Steve is the managing director of the Terrestrial Media Solutions Division of Arqiva (formally known as ntl Broadcast) which provides broadcast transmission services to the UK's commercial broadcasting sector.  Arqiva's Terrestrial Media Solutions Division is responsible for the broadcast of ITV, C4 and five's terrestrial TV signals as well as approximately 90% of the UK's commercial radio stations.  Arqiva also transmits 100 channels to the Sky DTH platform and provides quick response facilities for breaking news events and sports programmes.
 
Steve is leading Arqiva's Digital Switch Over project team whose objective is to ensure that the transition of analogue TV to digital-only service occurs by the Government's deadline (end of 2012).

Steve is also responsible for the Arqiva team developing Mobile TV services in the UK including the DVB-H trial in the Oxford area later this year.

Previously he was director of NTL Broadcast's satellite service group and led the establishment of ad-hoc, playout and direct-to-home platforms within its service portfolio.  Prior to joining NTL in 1995, Steve held a variety of positions in the satellite and telecoms industry working for Mercury, Kingston Satellite Services, British Aerospace and British Telecom International.

Steve graduated from Newcastle University with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering in 1987 and gained a Master of Science postgraduate degree at Surrey University in 1989.
