Management Profile: Nick Thompson

Nick Thompson joined Arqiva in July 2005 following the company's acquisition of Inmedia Communications Limited.  Nick was previously Chief Executive Officer of Inmedia having led the senior management team's successful management buy-out from Kingston Communications (Hull) Plc in April 2004 - the MBO being backed by one of the world's largest private equity firms, The Carlyle Group.

Nick joined Kingston Communications in the summer of 2000, taking on the role of managing director of the Kingston inmedia division.

Prior to Kingston Communications, Nick was European President of Loral CyberStar, a business formed in 1999 by Loral Space & Communication's consolidation of Loral Orion with the then newly acquired Williams Global Access Services.  Nick led the sale of the Global Access business unit to Loral, having successfully managed the business for three years whilst part of Williams Communications, Inc.

Nick was also involved in a number of successful start-up ventures, including Business Television Services (sold to Global Access in 1995), and Satellite Management International (sold to British Aerospace Communications in 1990).
