Prior to joining Arqiva in February 2008, Michael spent over 14 years with Vodafone in a variety of positions including Group Financial Controller, first Financial Director of Vodafone Group International, Financial Director - Group Planning and Operations, and CFO Europe. In that time he amassed significant experience in GSM licence bids, new business start ups and major M&A transactions worldwide (including post-acquisition integration).

His earlier industrial experience was gained in the printing and engineering sectors where he held Chief Accountant and Group Financial Controller posts. Prior to that he spent nine years as a Chartered Accountant, mainly with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC).

The Arqiva role provides an opportunity for Michael to return to the 'coal face', having spent so long in a larger corporate environment. His immediate challenge is the efficient integration of NGW and realisation of synergy benefits.
