Dr Hyacinth S. Nwana joined Arqiva in July 2005 as Managing Director, Mobile Media Solutions. He is responsible for all the company's activities in Mobile Broadcast TV, Wireless Broadband (WiMAX/WiFi), Datacasting and new wide (WANs), Metro (MANs) and/or National network roll out opportunities.
Previously he was Director of Products, Content & Technology at Quadriga Worldwide Ltd - the leading EMEA technology and managed services provider to the hospitality industry.
Before Quadriga, he was Executive Director and Global Chief Technology Officer & Investment Manager at antfactory Holding Ltd - a $500M technology investment firm. Before antfactory, he worked for British Telecommunications plc as a senior manager at the Advanced Communications Research (ACR) department at BT Laboratories, Adastral Park - now BT Exact.
Hyacinth ("H") holds a first degree in Computer Science & Electronic Engineering from the University of Birmingham, an MSc with Distinction in Computer Science, a PhD in Artificial Intelligence/Computer Science from Aston University, Birmingham as well as an MA in Computer Science Education from Queen's College, Cambridge. He also holds an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School, University of London.
Between 1988 and 1994, he worked in various roles (lecturer, researcher, visiting or contract scientist) for the Universities of Liverpool, Keele and Calgary (sponsored by the Royal Society), Shell Research Labs, Unilever Research Labs and BT Labs.
He remains a Visiting Professor at Brunel University in West London.
Dr Nwana is married with three children and includes running among his leisure activities.
