Peter Shore is an Executive Director, Macquarie Capital Group, London, responsible for the telecoms and technology sector within the Macquarie Capital Funds group. The funds currently have significant investments in three UK telecoms businesses, Arqiva, National Grid Wireless and Airwave, which provide critical national infrastructure to the telecoms, broadcasting and public safety sectors.
From 1994-2000 Peter was Group Managing Director, Commercial and Consumer, for Australia's major telecoms company, Telstra Corporation. Revenue for the company's biggest division was $7bn, Ebit $1.5bn. He was also during that time a Director of FOXTEL (Pay TV), BigPond - Internet, Telstra Multimedia, Stellar Call Centre Joint Venture, and several other ventures in Australia and overseas.
Peter worked with Investec Australia on advisory roles in the telecoms, internet, and technology fields from 2004 - March 2007. He was a member of the Siemens Australia Advisory Board, 2002-4, and till 2007 an Advisor to Siemens Australia.
His other roles have included that of Chairman and Director since 2001 of Hostworks (HWG), Australia's leading provider of complex, internet hosting. Chairman of Lonely Planet, the global travel guide and on-line travel company, Chairman/CEO of Unwired (UNW), a provider of Wireless Broadband services from 2001 to 2005, including 18 months as CEO during the company's IPO, raising over $100m in Dec 2003.
